For Memorial Day weekend some friends and I went camping down at Allegany State Park. A bunch of us drove down Friday morning in Phil’s ‘78 Dodge Honey that they painted black with a bright red door. They named it “Good Vibrations” after the song by Marky Mark. After we got there most of the gang went into town to get food and beer for the weekend. We played beer pong and washers and frisbee or catch and sat by the fire all night until we were ready to pass out.

Saturday morning James cooked breakfast for everybody. The girls left in search of the showers but there was no hot water left and I must have taken the coldest shower of my life. I honestly thought I was going to go into shock. Then we went to see the Thunder Rocks in the park and we did a little rock climbing. Of course I had my trusty flip flops on but I managed to climb a few. Phil was amazing at climbing the rocks, he had been comeing to the park since he was a kid and apparently new all the tricks.

After we all got in the RV and went to the Zippo Lighter Factory. It wasnt exactly up my ally given the fact that I dont smoke and have no reason for a $30 lighter but it was pretty cool non the less. Then we went to The Red Garder Resaurant in Salamanca where they had the best Chicken Quesadillas I have ever tasted. If you are ever in that area you should definitely go there.

Sunday was Daves Birthday and he decided that he wanted to go looking for bear caves but then we found out that it was a four mile walk so we decided to skip it and just hang out at the camp site instead. It was a beautiful day out. James, Becky, Joel and I went looking for a waterfall while the rest of the guys decided to try and wash up in the creek but I think both us and the guys were unsuccessful in our tasks. Instead phil came back with a collection of cray fish which he decided to roast over the fire that night and eat.

I wish I had taken more pictures while I was there. My small digital camera is broken so I only took my polaroid with me but of course I didnt want to waste all my film. But due to the fact that we were drinking on most of the trip the whole weekend is sort of a blurr, a good blurr. Luckily Joel took a bunch of video over the weekend. I say luckily because I havnt seen it yet. Im so excited to watch it but I know I’ll be mortified by any parts with me on it. I also managed to get sick, surprise surprise, so now Im in recovery mode which is fine because it is the summer so I have time.

The guys are talking about going back for Labor Day weekend and hopefully I get to go. And this time I’ll remember to bring a digital camera, and a pillow, and blankets, and a towel, and a sweatshirt, and sneakers, and a million other things that I forgot.

This past weekend was a lot of fun. The weather being so nice played a big part in that. Even Sunday which was supposed to be rainy stayed nice which was good because I was at an outdoor barbeque. The bbq was a lot of fun. A girl came by with some hula hoops she made which were really nice and I was playing with them for a little while. They were so easy to use it brought me back to the days when I could hula hoop for hours without stopping. However the downfall of all that hooping was later that night I had two very large, very sore bruses on my hips.

Final Thoguhts:
Who knew hula hooping was such a contact sport.

Yesterday was so gorgeous outside and today is shaping up to be even nicer. I can’t tell you how much my mood changes for the better when the cold weather finally starts to move out for good. I get all giddy! I’m so thrilled that I am speechless, I’m sure most of you who are living in this neck of the woods are feeling somewhat the same so I guess I don’t need to get into too much detail. But needless to say I just want to shout it from the rooftops: I LOVE SPRING!

Final Thoughts:
It’s sprung!

It has been a while since I’ve written anything. I’ve been busy being sick for the past four weeks. So that has been fun. I am finally starting to feel better, just in time to start getting caught up on all the work thats been building up before the end of the year is up. There is less then four weeks now till the end of the semester and I am very excited for summer but also a little nervous about how I’m going to get all my work done on time. I also haven’t even thought about what I’m going to do as far as classes for next semester or if I am taking summer courses, if I even still can sign up.

As for home related projects I recently bought my first bed after Corey moved out of my sisters apartment and took his bed that I was borrowing. I’ve found that as I start to buy these sort of big purchases for the first time its difficult to keep in mind what a reasonable price range is for everything. Theres the things my friends have and the things my parents have and the things the media tells me I should have and it’s hard to keep that all separate from the things I need and the things I can afford. Like a 42″ TV, thats something my friends have but not something that I need. Or a $3,000 mattress, that’s not even something my parents could “afford” but God does it feel nice to lay on. I was in Home Depo the other day and they had all the grills out and there were some that were sooo nice, like the kind you see on the Food Network and I thought one of those would be nice and at only $800 I could “afford” one. HA! Like I even grill. I should focus on buying groceries first I think.

Final Thoughts:
Not those kind of grills

I haven’t written in a while. I’ve been busy with spring break and being sick. Now I’m playing catch up with school work that I should have been getting caught up on over break. It’s really starting to feel like spring which is exciting. I think I actually become more motivated once spring arrives which is good. Most people say they loose their motivation around this time of year because they feel like summer is almost here. For me it’s like hibernation is over and I can finally come out of my cave. In a few weeks when it really starts to get warm and all these crazy college kids are out on their front porches playing beerpong, that’s when I start to say, the hell with class. But I think I have at least a good solid week of work first.

Final Thoughts:
…nothin’ but blue sky’s do I seeeee

In no specific order*

My own life, unless maybe to save a loved one
A member of my immediate family to the police
Bagels or any carbs for that matter
My dignity
My position on the beer pong list
My basic human rights
The punch line
A night with friends for a night of sleep
Poloroid film (if it were up to me)

Final Thoughts:
Do you think it’s better to have more or less on your list? Posses nothing, even your own sense of worth or be passionate and tied to many things in your life.

-I don’t lie
-I don’t gossip
-I don’t get in fights
-I don’t dance like a stripper
-I don’t sleep around
-I don’t need someone to take care of me when I’m drunk
-I know how to intelligently argue a point
-I don’t smoke cigarettes
-I don’t do dangerous drugs
-I don’t use people to get what I want
-I make an attempt to be different from other people
-I don’t look down on people who are different from me
-I don’t take life too seriously
-I don’t take myself too seriously
-I always have time
-I’m not always talking
-I don’t spend too much time on my appearance

List of reasons people DO like me… N/A

Some bloggers are partaking in the Green Week where you post pictures and talk about things that are green…? Well anyways I haven’t been doing that obviously but today I would like to partake in festivities to say that I found a one hundred dollar bill on the ground.

That’s kinda crazy.

Final Thoughts:
I found $100

Dave got a Dog from Lollipop Farms. He’s a six (?) year old Husky that Dave named Blizzard and that everyone else has named Boner. He seems to be very friendly and well behaved and I am very excited to play with him and pet him whenever I am there.

In my photo class tonight I experimented with some poloroid transfers and I am very excited to continue experimenting with that this weekend. Do you think it would be weird if I started carrying this camera around to party’s and doing poloroid transfers on the spot?

ID- check, camera- check, Brayer- check, watercolor paper and soaking tray- check

Final Thoughts:
I can’t wait for Spring

According to my car it was 67 degrees on my way to class today! It’s like I’m back in Florida! Of course I missed the entire morning sleeping and eating and showering. Perhaps I would have gotten out of bed earlier if I had actually believed that it was 60 degrees out but excuse me for thinking that was a little too good to be true in Rochester in early March. Although it really is too good to be true because tomorrow we are supposed to get a huge snow storm and the temperature will be back down to 20 or 30.

Balls.

On another note apparently March is the month for lists and seeing as though I have had a thousand things I should be doing I thought I would create something of a To Do List for myself.
